At the first signs of poisoning the utmost care of the person affected should be taken. This depends largely on the type of poison and the way it has entered the body, as well as how sensitive the victim is.
These are the most frequent symptoms of intoxication or poisoning:
- Neurological: Headache, loss of consciousness, stupor, drowsiness, confusion, convulsions, dizziness.
- Respiratory: Shortness of breath, cough, feel of drowning, pain when inhaling.
- Digestive: Vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, nausea, bad breath (strange or unusual odour), lips and mouth burning.
- Skin: Skin rashes, burns, tingling in hands.
- General: Double vision, fever, palpitations, blue lips, irritability, lack of control of the sphincter, generalised aches.
