A cold is a mild illness caused by a virus. There are over 200 different viruses that can cause colds.
Risk factors. Children suffer bronchitis more frequently. Symptoms include high fever (102.2 ºF - 39 °C), runny nose, stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, cough and watery eyes. Often it begins with the nose and throat, and then moves down to the bronchi.
Treatment. Antibiotics do not cure colds. There is no medicine to cure them, but some, like acetaminophen, help to improve symptoms (headache, fever and other discomfort).
