Heart failure occurs when the heart is not able to pump enough blood as it should throughout the body because its ability to function has been decreased.
Risk factors. Coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, especially atrial fibrillation, hypertension or valvulopathies that have damaged the heart or that have subjected it to excessive burden generating dilation.
Prevention. Controlling classic risk factors, especially arterial hypertension. Exercising without overdoing it in order to improve blood flow and relieve some of the symptoms.
