Do not share instruments for injecting drugs.
Do not share personal items (toothbrushes, razors, etc.).
Properly sterilize instruments used to puncture the skin.
Use a new condom every time you have sex.
Do not use both a male and a female condom as the friction can damage them.
An infected pregnant woman can choose to have an abortion. It is best to talk to your gynaecologist about how to decrease the risk of infecting the baby. Breast milk can transmit the virus and is therefore discouraged.
