A cavity is tooth decay due poor dental hygiene. Food debris and acids that destroy enamel accumulate.
Risk factors. Not taking care of one’s mouth. Acids that accumulate damage the enamel covering the tooth, affecting the nerves and gradually breaking it down until it’s lost completely.
Prevention. A good brushing between the teeth after every meal is essential. It is also highly recommended to eat a balanced diet rich in nutritious foods (raw vegetables, yogurt, cheese and fruit).
Treatment. Brush teeth thoroughly, flossing deeply between the teeth and then using mouth wash.
