Lupus symptoms vary greatly depending on the individual and how lupus occurs. Most patients do not exhibit all the symptoms. The most common are:
- Pain and swelling in the joints.
- Persistent, unexplained fever of over 100.4 °F.
- Extreme fatigue prolonged.
- Rashes, (the butterfly wings on cheeks and nose).
- Chest pain when breathing.
- Anaemia.
- Excess protein in the urine.
- Sensitivity to sunlight or ultraviolet light.
- Hair loss.
- Problems with blood clotting.
- Pale or purple discolouration of the fingers with the cold.
- Seizures.
- Persistent oral or nasal ulcers.
