Recommendations

  • If it is a serious case, you must quickly alert the emergency services.
  • Put the victim in a horizontal position with raised legs.
  • Locate bleeding, which is sometimes hidden by clothing.
  • Stop the flow of blood by applying pressure with a piece of clean clothing, always pressing against the bone at the point closest to the wound.
  • Continue applying pressure until emergency services arrive.
  • If part of the body is detached, however small, hygienically isolate it and deliver it to medical services so that they can attempt to reattach it.
